Awning installation: wall, ceiling, or rafter

A cassette awning has significant weight and must also withstand wind when the fabric is extended. Therefore, the mounting is just as important as the awning itself. There are three methods for the Leiner FINO and CENTO.

Wall mounting

The standard case. The awning hangs on wall brackets that are 120 mm wide. For special cases, wider wall brackets of 200 or 300 mm are available.

Ceiling mounting

If there is a balcony or ceiling above the terrace, the awning is mounted underneath it using ceiling brackets. These are available in 120 and 200 mm widths. For large systems, Leiner mandates the 200 mm bracket for ceiling mounting to ensure wind resistance class 1 is achieved.

Rafter mounting

If there is no load-bearing wall, such as under an roof overhang, the awning is attached to the rafters using rafter brackets. The brackets are available in 378 mm and 450 mm lengths; they are used in conjunction with the wall bracket. When determining the required dimensions, the spacing of the rafters must be taken into account.

The substrate is decisive

Concrete and solid brick are unproblematic. In the case of aerated concrete, hollow brick, or an insulated facade, the type and number of brackets and the anchors used to install them will change. For thermal insulation, the forces must be transferred through the insulation into the load-bearing structure. Therefore, please clarify what your wall is made of before ordering.

Self-installation

You can download the installation instructions from Leiner on the product page. This allows you to see what is involved before you place your order.
