A louvered roof turns a patio into a space that can be used almost all year round. The roof louvers can be rotated: fully open for the sun, closed against rain, and half-open for shade with ventilation. We plan, supply, and install roofs from Renson in Belgium.

The models

The Camargue is the classic louvered roof with rotating louvers and water drainage integrated into the posts. The Camargue Skye is the version with an especially sleek aesthetic. The Algarve and Algarve Lite have a fixed, closed roof and are ideal for situations where protection from rain is the primary concern. The Lapure is a minimalist patio cover designed for clean architecture.

What goes with it

Side screens keep out low-lying sun, wind, and prying eyes. Sliding elements made of glass or louvers turn an open patio into an enclosed room. This is complemented by LED lighting in the beams and radiant heaters, both of which are planned from the start and neatly wired.

Why we visit you first

A louvered roof is a structure. It requires a foundation, has weight, and may require a permit depending on its size and region. Whether it is free-standing or attached to the house determines the structural requirements. None of these can be reliably assessed from a distance—that is why we take measurements before we provide a quote.

Frequently asked questions

Can a louvered roof withstand snow?
Renson roofs are designed for snow loads; exactly how much depends on the model and the span. We determine this during the planning stage for your specific location.

Is it watertight when the louvers are closed?
Yes. The water flows over the louvers into the frames and from there out through the posts.

Do I need a building permit?
That depends on the size, distance from property lines, and local municipality. We will tell you what needs to be clarified in your case; the property owner is responsible for obtaining the permit itself.

Can I retrofit screens or lighting later?
Some things yes, some things no. If you want to keep your options open, we will include the necessary preparations during the initial planning; it costs almost nothing during installation but much more later on.
