Retractable instead of permanently tensioned

The most important difference compared to a cheap triangular cloth from a hardware store: the sails from Bahama can be rolled up. This means they do not remain tensioned in all weather conditions, but retract when the wind picks up or winter begins. This is exactly where permanently tensioned sails fail – they wear themselves out within two seasons.

The models

The square4sun line stretches straight across rectangular areas. The square4sun cross and the cross pro cross multiple panels to shade larger areas, even around corners. The elips4sun is the elliptical shape for organically shaped terraces and pool areas. The Summerday from CARAVITA is the more compact sail for private terraces; matching mounting hardware is available for it.

What needs to be clarified beforehand

A shade sail pulls on its mounting points with considerable force. These points must be load-bearing: house wall, steel support, or foundation. Where there is nothing load-bearing, we install supports or screw foundations from Krinner. That is why we come by for measurements before we prepare an offer.

Frequently asked questions

Is a shade sail waterproof?
The fabrics are water-repellent, not waterproof. A sail is sun protection, not a roof. If you want a roof, a louvered roof is the right answer.

Can it stay outside in the winter?
Yes, rolled up and with a protective cover. You should not leave any sail tensioned throughout the winter.

What sizes are available?
The sails are made to measure. What is possible on your terrace depends on the mounting points – we will clarify this during the measurement.
