Mehr über Pflege und Schutz erfahren

Garden furniture lasts for decades if you invest one hour twice a year. Here you will find care products from Weishäupl, matching protective covers, and the BUXIT protective net against the box tree moth.

Teak: let it grey or oil it

Both are correct; it is a matter of taste. Untreated teak greys into a silvery tone but remains stable – the wood does not suffer. Those who wish to retain the warm honey tone should apply hard oil once in the spring. The sequence is important: first clean, then let dry, then oil. Oiling dirty wood traps the dirt inside.

Which product for what

The wood brightener restores grey teak to its light color before oiling. Pre-cleaner A and Basic cleaner B are the two-component system for heavily weathered wood. The universal soap is for regular intermediate cleaning. The oil and wax remover removes old layers before new ones are applied. Use the touch-up lacquer to repair scratches on lacquered frames.

Using protective covers correctly

A cover extends the lifespan by years – but only if it remains open at the bottom so air can reach the furniture. A tightly sealed tarpaulin becomes a greenhouse, causing the wood to sweat underneath and leading to mildew stains. Basic covers are available in standard sizes; for everything else, Weishäupl provides custom tailoring.

Box tree moth

The moth arrives twice a year, in spring and midsummer. The BUXIT net keeps it away from the plant before it lays eggs – it is fine-meshed, translucent, reusable for years, and requires no chemical sprays.

Frequently asked questions

How often do I need to oil?
Once a year is sufficient under normal use, preferably in spring in dry weather above 15 degrees Celsius.

Do I need to store the furniture indoors?
Teak and aluminum can stay outside. Cushions and pillows should be kept dry indoors, as should anything with electronics.

What can I do about green growth?
Use universal soap and a soft brush first, or for stubborn growth, use pre-cleaner A and basic cleaner B. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner, as it tears open the wood fibers.
