What size do I need for my fire plate?
The most common question before buying a fire plate is about the size. And almost everyone calculates the wrong way around: they count how many people are eating. What is decisive, however, is how many people should be standing at the ring and cooking at the same time.
The simple rule
One person needs about an arm's length of space at the ring. With a diameter of 75 to 85 centimeters, two people can work comfortably at the same time, while 100 centimeters accommodates three to four. The fact that ten people might be sitting at the table afterward does not change this – the food comes off the ring in several rounds anyway.
75 centimeters
The OFYR 75 is the compact size. It fits on a normal patio, leaves enough room to walk past on the left and right, and is sufficient for everyday use for two to four people. If your patio is small or you don't want the fire plate to be the largest piece of furniture on it, this is the right choice.
85 centimeters
The Classic+ at 85 centimeters is the most frequently purchased size. Enough cooking surface for a family without the unit dominating the space. If you can't decide, you are rarely wrong with this one.
100 centimeters
From 100 centimeters upwards, the fire plate becomes the centerpiece. Three to four people can cook simultaneously, and the outer zone is wide enough to keep larger quantities warm. This size is worth it if you regularly cook for larger groups or enjoy working together at the fire.
What else you should plan for
Calculate enough space all around for walls, hedges, and furniture. The surface must be solid and non-flammable. And think about where the prepared bowls should be placed – either on a side table or directly on a model with a built-in shelf.
