The square4sun cross pro is the space-saving version of the cross: the same rectangular sail cut, also two masts each with a pull rope, but significantly shorter pull ropes. As a result, the masts are positioned directly at the edge of the sail rather than far outside, reducing the minimum clearance required between mast and sail. On a roof terrace, in a courtyard, or on a narrow urban terrace, this is often the deciding factor in whether a sail system is even feasible. You lose nothing in terms of shade area, only in the installation radius for the masts.

The sail is moved by a Somfy tubular motor located in the roller shaft. When extending, special aluminum profiles developed by Bahama arch the fabric into a three-dimensional shape; when retracting, they lie flat against the shaft again. The radio-controlled Sunea 60 io with a handheld transmitter is standard; alternatively, there is the wired LT 60 Taurus for an on-site KNX control system, and, with the Somfy Tahoma hub, operation via smartphone is also possible. Wind sensors, sun sensors, and rain sensors are available as accessories. Especially on roof terraces, where the wind picks up sooner than at ground level, we advise using a wind sensor.

The fabric is WeatherMAX 80, a yarn-dyed and impregnated polyester fabric with approximately 270 g per square meter; it is breathable, highly water-repellent, and rated UPF 50+. The strips are adhesive-fixed before sewing and stitched with TENARA thread; the pull ropes are 4 mm thick. For the mast, you can choose between the round ID 110, with a 110 mm diameter, 3,623 mm height, and 11-degree tilt, and the oval ID 175, with dimensions from 75 to 105 by 175 mm and heights from 3,000 to 4,500 mm. The ID 175 can be installed at an angle between 0 and 90 degrees—for example, horizontally on a wall—and is available with an optional crank-operated internal height adjustment. Both masts are made of powder-coated aluminum in white aluminum similar to RAL 9006 or anthracite similar to RAL 7016, with a fine-structure matte finish.

There are 47 dimension combinations available, ranging from an extension of 4.0 m by 4.0 m width up to a 7.8 m extension at 6.0 m width or a 7.0 m extension at 6.8 m width. The largest standard size covers around 48 square meters. Intermediate sizes can be calculated upon request, and like all C4sun models, the cross pro is also available as a double-sail system, which is often the more elegant solution on elongated roof terraces compared to a single very large sail.

Each sail is covered with WeatherMAX 80. Four colors are standard and available at no extra charge: Silver 95, Oyster 11, Taupe 92, and Graphite 94. In addition, Bahama offers thirteen special colors: Beige 16, Sand 14, Toast 13, Chocolate 80, Pacific Blue 22, Royal 24, Captain Navy 25, Black 90, Moss 36, Forest Green 30, Yellow 40, White 10, and Light Charcoal 91; the 2026 price list charges a surcharge of 16 euros per square meter for these, with the area calculated as extension times width. Wind stability at C4sun includes the relief mechanism in the mast: internal dampers absorb wind pressure, and smooth-running guide pulleys ensure the pull ropes operate quietly. The short pull ropes transfer tension steeply into the mast; therefore, the question of anchoring and structural integrity on roof terraces should be clarified early on. To be honest: unlike for its large umbrellas, Bahama does not specify wind speeds in kilometers per hour for C4sun sails, nor does it provide a separate wind guarantee. The sail must be retracted during storms, heavy rain, and snowfall. For large areas and windy locations, Bahama recommends the Power Package with two synchronized motors; it is already included with some of the largest dimensions.

Statutory warranty and Bahama's terms and conditions apply; there is no separate wind guarantee for the sails as there is for the large umbrellas. Wear parts such as pull ropes, guide pulleys, and motors can be reordered through Bahama, and a replacement sail is custom-manufactured to your measurements. Bahama offers cleaning, impregnation, and maintenance as a service, according to the 2026 price list for 260 euros net plus 34 euros per square meter, excluding disassembly and assembly, and requiring the customer to ship the sail without profiles. For the winter break, a protective cover for the shaft and sail made of WeatherMAX 80 in Graphite with Velcro closure is available for 320 euros net.

Bahama has been manufacturing in Reichshof in the Oberberg region since 1950; the C4sun sail line, launched in 2011, has been part of the company since 2018. The fabrics are produced in collaboration with one of the leading German sail manufacturers: the strips are cut using CNC laser cutting, precisely adhesive-fixed before sewing, and stitched with TENARA thread. Bahama handles the insertion of profiles and final assembly by hand in-house. Each system is created only after your order and to your specific measurements.

On roof terraces, large shading solutions almost always fail due to a lack of space and the nature of the surface. That is precisely why the square4sun cross pro features shortened tension ropes: the masts stand directly at the edge of the sail, meaning almost no floor space is lost.

To be honest, this also has a downside. You are committing to having the masts stand immediately next to the sail; you do not have the flexibility in positioning that the cross offers. If your area is large enough and the ground is suitable, I would recommend the cross. On a narrow roof terrace, the pro is the right choice.

The sail fabric of the square4sun cross pro is WeatherMAX 80, a solution-dyed and impregnated polyester fabric, not acrylic. In most cases, it is sufficient to brush off the extended sail while dry and remove leaves or pollen before rolling it up. For heavier soiling, clean by hand with lukewarm water, mild soap, and a soft brush, rinse thoroughly, and let the sail dry completely while extended. Never roll it up while damp, otherwise mold stains will form.

Do not use high-pressure cleaners, abrasive agents, solvents, or chlorine on the fabric. The high-pressure jet destroys the HydroMax finish and damages the seams, and it is precisely this impregnation that ensures water beads off instead of soaking in. After a few years, the impregnation will wear off; this is normal. Bahama will then accept the sail for cleaning, re-impregnation, and maintenance; according to the 2026 price list, this costs 260 euros net plus 34 euros per square meter, excluding disassembly and assembly. The sail is sent in for this purpose without the profiles.

The mast, shaft, and brackets are made of powder-coated aluminum and stainless steel, respectively. A damp cloth with clear water is sufficient; polish or abrasive cleaners are not needed. Once a year, inspect the 4 mm tension ropes, the pulleys, and the tightness of the fastenings. Please do not grease or oil the pulleys on your own; instead, contact us. In coastal areas and locations with high salt content, Bahama offers "V4A" extra protection with more corrosion-resistant components.

Over the winter, the sail should be rolled up clean and completely dry and remain retracted; the winter protective cover made of WeatherMAX 80 wraps around the shaft and sail with a Velcro fastener. Do not leave the sail extended when snow or ice are expected. Creases and fold lines in the fabric occur when rolling up, are unavoidable with any retractable sail, and do not constitute a defect; they generally disappear as soon as the fabric is under tension for an extended period.

The square4sun cross pro is a custom-made product. It is manufactured only after you place your order, to your exact specifications, at the Bahama factory in Reichshof. Please allow several weeks for this; we will provide you with a binding date in the order confirmation. Experience shows that during the high season between April and July, this process takes longer, so placing your order early is worthwhile.

A C4sun is not installed by the customer: assembly is carried out by Bahama technicians or trained specialist dealers, and we will coordinate the date with you and the installer. Shipping and assembly costs are added to the price shown above. For shade sails, freight costs depend on the width of the sail and your postal code area, ranging between 379 and 740 euros net in 2026, while assembly is charged according to the work involved. We will provide you with both figures before you place your order so that you know the total amount.

The mast and ground mounting are not included in the price. Depending on the substrate, the mast is placed on a concrete foundation, on a Krinner screw foundation, in a ground sleeve, or attached to the building via wall clamps and a mast bracket. The foundation itself and the 230-volt power connection must be provided by the customer, as must a load-bearing surface. We will specify exactly what is required in your case in the quote, ensuring there are no hidden extras later on.

Delivery is made by a freight forwarder to the curb. The shaft and sail are long and bulky, so the approach and a storage area should be cleared, and someone should be available to assist with unloading. The easiest way is to coordinate the delivery directly with the assembly date, as the material will be in good hands on that day anyway.

Because every sail is custom-made, there is no right of withdrawal. That is precisely why we take time beforehand: we go through dimensions, mast position, color, drive, and mounting with you before the order goes into production.
