HeatFlare designer radiant heater

The HeatFlare is the device for terraces where you do not want to see the radiant heater. Flat, narrow, with a designer protective grille that looks more like architecture than building services—and in finishes that match modern facades: brushed stainless steel, titanium, dark grey inspired by DB 703, and, for the large version, white.

Inside, a carbon heating element with medium-wave infrared radiation is at work, reaching temperature in less than thirty-five seconds. There is virtually no red light. Behind it sits a high-performance reflector that projects the radiation forward instead of losing it into the ceiling.

Two sizes: 88 centimeters in length with 1,600 watts at 3.8 kilograms for a seating area, 172 centimeters with 3,200 watts at 8 kilograms for a long bench or dining table. Both measure only 9.6 × 8 centimeters in cross-section. 1,600 watts are available per tube.

IPx4 protection rating, connection to 230 volts, 170-centimeter connection cable without Schuko plug, wall and ceiling mounting with suitable brackets for various installation situations. Dedicated brackets are available for gutters and 40-millimeter rectangular tubes, as well as a stainless steel weather protection plate.

Regarding control: Without wireless control, you switch the heater on and off in the classic way. With ExRemote 2.0, you get a wireless remote control for up to four heating circuits and four lighting circuits. The Bluetooth wireless wall transmitter is a double rocker switch for the wall if you do not want to search for a remote control. Somfy io and Warema WMS integrate the heater into an existing home automation system—sensible if the awning, light, and heat are already running through one system. A wireless room temperature sensor is available as an accessory for all devices with integrated control.

A note that hardly anyone explains and that is legally binding: According to the EU Ecodesign Directive, stationary electric heaters without a controller are intended for outdoor use, while devices with integrated control are intended for closed or covered areas. This is also stated in the manufacturer's price list. Therefore, if you want to heat an exposed area, use the version without control. For a covered seating area, a winter garden, or a closed pergola, the version with control is the right one. In case of doubt, we will go through this with you briefly.

Radiation efficiency 76 percent, service life 10,000 operating hours. The carbon tube is available as a spare part.

When mounting, it depends on the angle and height—if mounted too high, heat is wasted; if too low, it creates glare and becomes uncomfortable. Send us a photo of your situation, and we will tell you where the device belongs and which bracket you need.

For customers who have invested a lot of money in a beautiful patio, the most common question is not how warm it gets, but how to hide the device again. The HeatFlare is my answer to that. Flat, narrow, with a grille that looks more like architecture than building services – and in brushed stainless steel, it suits practically every modern façade.

Switch off, disconnect from power, and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe the housing and decorative grille with a soft, slightly damp cloth. When cleaning brushed stainless steel, wipe in the direction of the grain to avoid streaks.

Do not use abrasive agents or solvent-based cleaners; do not insert anything through the grille.

IPx4 provides protection against splashing water, not against water jets. For exposed installation locations, a stainless steel weather shield is available as an accessory in lengths of 81.5 and 165.5 centimeters.

The appropriate mounting bracket depends on your installation situation; please let us know when ordering whether it will be mounted to a wall, ceiling, gutter, or sub-structure. The connection cable is 170 centimeters long and does not have a Schuko plug.

Regarding power: The 1,600-watt version draws approximately 7.0 amperes at 230 volts, and the 3,200-watt version draws approximately 13.9 amperes. The larger unit effectively requires its own circuit protected by a 16-ampere fuse. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
