HeatShine carbon heater

The HeatShine is the radiant heater for anyone who wants instant warmth. Less than thirty-five seconds after switching it on, you will feel the heat on your skin — made possible by a triple carbon heating element that emits medium-wave infrared radiation in the range of 1,400 to 5,000 nanometers. This radiation does not heat the air, but the objects it strikes. That is why it works even in drafty areas.

What sets it apart from cheap carbon heaters is the absence of red light. Carbon glows significantly less than a classic halogen rod; the HeatShine remains almost invisible in the evening and won't turn your patio into a snack bar.

2,700 watts, 124 × 16.9 × 7.5 centimeters, 4.5 kilograms. The body is made of aluminum, with a silver protective grille in front. Protection class IPx5 — this is the highest rating in the entire range and means protection even against water jets. Connection to 230 volts, wall or ceiling mounting, recommended mounting height 220 centimeters.

Every version is available in black. White is available in stock for all variants with control; the simple on-off version in white is manufactured by the manufacturer upon request — let us know, and we will inquire about it for you.

Regarding control: Without wireless control, you switch the heater on and off in the classic way. With ExRemote 2.0, you get a wireless remote control for up to four heating circuits and four lighting circuits. The Bluetooth wireless wall transmitter is a double rocker for the wall if you don't want to search for a remote control. Somfy io and Warema WMS integrate the heater into an existing home automation system — useful if your awning, lighting, and heating are already running through one system. A wireless room temperature sensor is available as an accessory for all devices with integrated control.

A note that hardly anyone explains and that is legally binding: According to the EU Ecodesign Regulation, stationary electric heaters without a controller are intended for outdoor use, whereas devices with integrated control are for closed or covered areas. This is also stated in the manufacturer's price list. So, if you want to heat an exposed area, choose the version without control. For a covered seating area, conservatory, or enclosed pergola, the variant with control is the right choice. In case of doubt, we will go through this with you briefly.

The radiant efficiency is 76 percent, the service life is 10,000 operating hours. The carbon tube can be replaced if necessary; it costs less than 40 euros — that is the difference between a device that you repair and one that you throw away.

The HeatShine is the device I recommend when someone says: I don't want to have to think about the patio twenty minutes in advance. It's warm after half a minute. That might sound like a detail, but in everyday life, it’s the difference between a device that gets used and one that just hangs on the wall.

It is built at S.E. System Electronic in Halfing, a twenty-minute drive from us. I have seen the production process. That is more important to me for electrical appliances than it is for a chair.

Switch off, disconnect from the power supply, and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe the housing and protective grille with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive agents or solvent-based cleaners.

Never touch the heating element itself and do not reach through the grille with any objects. It is best to remove dust from the grille with a soft brush.

The HeatShine is protected against water jets with an IPx5 rating, making it the most robust device in our range. A high-pressure cleaner, however, should not be used.

You can perform the wall or ceiling mounting yourself; the electrical connection should be carried out by a qualified electrician. The connection cable is 170 centimeters long and does not have a Schuko plug; for the version without control, it is 80 centimeters.

At 230 volts, the HeatShine draws around 11.7 amperes with 2,700 watts. This is feasible for a standard 16-amp circuit, but only if nothing else significant is connected to it. Two units on one circuit will not work.
