Cabin deckchairs are pieces of furniture that people get attached to – they have often been on the terrace for ten years and are expected to last another ten. What takes a toll on them isn't the rain, but the moisture that doesn't dry out: under a dense tarpaulin, it remains trapped in the wood and fabric. That is why I chose the Weishäupl covers. The fabric allows moisture to escape, and because there is a separate cut for both the Basic and Deluxe models, the cover actually fits properly. They are sewn in Stephanskirchen, less than a half-hour drive from us in Wasserburg am Inn – for a product like this, the fact that my supplier manufactures just around the corner is more important to me than a low price.

This is how the cover remains watertight and keeps its shape for years:

• Cleaning: Lukewarm water, mild soapy water, soft sponge or soft brush. Allow to dry completely before putting the cover back on.
• Before covering: Wipe furniture dry and clean. Trapped moisture is the most common cause of mildew stains.
• Overwintering: The cover can remain outside all year round. Cushions, pads and pillows should still be stored in a dry place – the covers are designed for furniture without upholstery.
• Waterproofing: If the water-repellent properties diminish after a few years, refresh the clean, dry cover with a waterproofing spray for outdoor fabrics – never on wet fabric.
• Please do not use: Washing machines, tumble dryers, high-pressure cleaners, fabric softeners, solvents, abrasive cleaners or bleach. This damages the fabric and thus the weather protection.

For deck chairs, it is worth taking a second look: the fabric should be dry before the cover is placed over it. Tighten the cord and cord stopper once before winter so that nothing flaps in the storm.

Delivery time: approx. 3 weeks. Each protective cover is sewn to order at Weishäupl and shipped directly to you from the factory.

Shipping as a parcel within Germany and Austria: €9.90; free for orders over €100. A freight forwarding company is not required for protective covers – even if you order several covers at once.
